•Algeria’s energy sector is transforming to become progressively reliant on the electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES).
•The objective of 30% share has already to be respected in accordance with Algeria’s commitments in Paris Agreement.
•The Excellence (Tamayouz) program proposed by the signals and Systems Laboratoryconsists in developpingmethods of analysis, control and diagnosis of distributed sources (renewables) in a microgrid
The Specific Objectives of the program are:
•To develop management, diagnosis and control techniques for standalone and smart grids including the modern communication infrastructure;
•To developcost-effective toolsallowing the integration of the supervsion, the prediction and the management of the hybridsystems or Microgrids
•To propose analysistools of Micro-gridsenabling the study of the possible scenarios withoutconnecting to the national grid
•To developfaultdiagnosisalgorithms for the different components of the smart grid
To develop new control schemes to improve the performance of the smart grid.The implementation of the program allows, among others, to:
•Mastery of the modern techniques applied to smart grids
•Contribution to the development opf new methods/tools to improve smart grid performance
•Initiating development relations with the industrial and economic sector to solve real life problems
•Preparation of Master and PhD graduates to acquire the necessary competences to develop smart grids
•Proposition of specialized training programs for the industrial and economic sector
